BTS Preservation Tour of the Nathaniel Russell House Museum with Valerie Perry

Nathaniel Russell House Museum, 51 Meeting Street

May 30, 5:30 to 7:00 pm

Over the past year, the renewed love and passion for the Nathaniel Russell House was a reminder of how special this historic landmark is in the world of historic preservation. When was your last visit to the Nathaniel Russell House, and do you know what makes it so special? In honor of Preservation Month, we invite YOU to go behind-the-scenes of the Nathaniel Russell House and focus on the specific preservation methods and techniques uniquely and expertly on display at this 1808 historic house museum. House Museum Manager, Valerie Perry, will tap into her 20+ years at the Nathaniel Russell House to point out the details of the trompe l'oeil cornice and molding, faux lapis lazuli painted baseboards in the Drawing Room, and restoration. For this special experience, enjoy a glass of wine while diving deeper into the world of historic preservation at this beautifully restored National Landmark and see areas normally closed to the public.

Tickets required and for ages 15 and above. The space is limited and not handicap accessible due to the historic nature of the house.

Please purchase a ticket in advance if you plan to attend.
If you have already registered and are unable to attend, please let us know so that we may make room for those on the waiting list. (SDuffy@HistoricCharleston.org)
