Selected date

Selected time

6:00 PM  –  7:30 PM

Celebrate Preservation Month in May!

Marina Lopez and Kerry Taylor of the Citadel Oral History Program draw from their recent oral history projects to discuss the importance of counter narratives in documenting recent Charleston history. They will also discuss the basics of an oral history interview and will provide tips for those who wish to undertake their own interview with an elder or loved one.

"As interviewers, we feel a pressing urgency to record the stories of people while they are healthy and their memories fresh. As interviewees, we feel the need to discipline our memories in such a way that will bring order to our complicated pasts." -- Kerry Taylor
