Please join HCF for a conversation and workshop exploring the rich history and cultural significance of indigo and the traditional and contemporary indigo dyeing techniques inspired by our current exhibit, Indigo: Variations in Blue at the Aiken-Rhett House Museum.
This hands-on experience features several of the exhibition's artists demonstrating wax resist dye, string resist dye, and arashi pole-wrap indigo dyeing techniques plus the exhibit’s curator, Bindu Gude. Guests will begin the program with a conversation between the artists and curator and then enjoy working with indigo alongside the artists.
Each participant will take home a dyed tea towel. Light refreshments are included.
TICKETS: $55 per person, supplies included.
Program designed for ages 17+.
Pre-registration is required. No tickets available at the door.
