The Aiken-Rhett House (c. 1820), located at 48 Elizabeth Street, is open Monday 1 - 4pm and Tuesday - Sunday 10am until 4pm. You may visit anytime within those hours to enjoy a self-paced audio tour as we do not have reserved starting times. Visitors must complete their self-paced tours promptly by 5pm. If you are interested in a docent-led guided tour of the Aiken-Rhett House, docent-led tours are first-come, first-served and begin at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm. 

For groups of 12 or more, please call the house manager to reserve a tour. Discounts apply.

You may visit anytime within those hours as we do not have reserved starting times. However, we do ask that you plan to arrive and start your tour before 4:15 pm to allow enough time before the museum closes at 5 pm.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to ongoing maintenance, we cannot guarantee use of the house elevator. If you have accessibility questions, please contact the House Manager at 843-724-8482.

For groups of 12 or more, please call the house manager to reserve a tour. Discounts apply.

Festival Tours

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW ABOUT TOURS:

1. Tours go on rain or shine. Prepare for inclement weather if forecasted.

2. We recommend you wear comfortable, flat-soled shoes, bring a capped water bottle, and plan to "travel lightly."

3. In accordance with South Carolina state law, photography is not permitted on private property.

4. Pets are not permitted on tour.

5. Well-supervised children ages six and older are welcomed on the tours if tickets are purchased for them. Because of the risk to private property and collections, strollers, car seats, backpacks, or children strapped in any manner to an adult are not permitted in the private residences on tour.

6. * Ticketholders for TOUR events will need to pick up credentials (map and ticket) on or after Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Festival ticket office. Credentials for all TOURS will be available beginning March 16th.

(*Architectural and Garden Legacy Tour ticketholders will receive an email one week prior to the tour with instructions about where to meet for the tour.)

7. Please read and save your order confirmation you will receive via email once your order is completed. Your confirmation will provide details for picking up your TOUR credentials. You will need to present your order confirmation as proof of purchase to pick up credentials.
