Please join HCF for a workshop exploring the rich history and cultural significance of indigo and the traditional and contemporary indigo dyeing techniques inspired by our current exhibit, Indigo: Variations in Blue at the Aiken-Rhett House Museum. The program will begin with an artist introduction by curator, Bindu Gude.
The indigo artists will demonstrate wax resist dye, string resist dye, and arashi pole-wrap indigo dyeing techniques, and guests will have the opportunity to explore one of the techniques on their own.
Each participant will take home a dyed tea towel. Light refreshments are included.

Program designed for ages 17+.
Comfortable shoes and appropriate attire for working with indigo dye are recommended.
