Speaker: Christian Sottile, AIA, founding principal of Sottile & Sottile, a Savannah-based firm
working primarily in Nationally Registered Historic Districts
2. LECTURE on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 10:00 am
From Hutty to Halsey: Collecting in 2024, What’s Hot and What’s Not
Location: DOYLE Auctioneers and Appraisers, 123 King Street, Charleston
Speaker: Angelo Madrigale, DOYLE Senior Vice President, Director of the Paintings Department and Director of Contemporary Art.
3. LECTURE on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 10:00 am
Archaeobotanical Studies in Above-Ground Spaces: The Nathaniel Russell Kitchen House and the Important Story It Reveals
Location: HCF Headquarters, 40 East Bay Street, Community Room
Speaker: Dr. Chantel White, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at the University of
Pennsylvania and the CAAM Teaching Specialist for Archaeobotany at the Penn
Museum.
Please note, the elevator is currently out of order at this location and the Community Room is only accessible via stairs.
4. EXCURSION on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00 am
The Sometimes “Disturbing Art” of Architecture: WG Clark and the Middleton Inn
Location: Middleton Inn, 4290 Ashley River Road, Charleston
Speakers: Reggie Gibson, Will Wingfield, and Tracey Todd.
For the final installment of this season's Art & Architecture series, we invite guests to join us at the Middleton Inn with Director of Museums, Tracey Todd and lead architects on the project, Reggie Gibson and Will Wingfield to learn more about this award-winning property and enjoy lunch with the speakers and fellow guests. A boxed lunch will be provided for each registered attendee. More details and excursion logistics will be provided prior to the date.
